The main objective of the organization is to provide humanitarian relief and development aid to the poor and vulnerable people of Afghanistan. At present, ISAR has a broad range of activity in the areas of emergency response, education, community development, food security, health, water and sanitation, women empowerment, youth Empowerment, agriculture, child protection, capacity development and research.
Today, we will work to deliver life-saving aid to the people living on the edge of survival. Tomorrow, when the crisis subsides, we will work alongside community members to restore job opportunities and develop education programs. ISAR has the experience and agility to meet the ever-changing needs of populations in vulnerable situations. We partner with them to develop a strategy for the future and create more enduring pathways to stability. For many years ISAR staff have focused their attention on local conflict, both through extensive community-based capacity-building and research in areas afflicted by violence. This unique insight, allied with rigorous analysis, has allowed ISAR to gain the respect of national and international decision-making bodies and to speak openly and candidly on the challenging debates concerning the future of the country. Over the past decade ISAR staff have pioneered ways of working across different justice systems and connecting communities to formal institutions as well as supporting, training and mentoring those involved in resolving community disputes. We have also provided expertise in conflict sensitive programme to humanitarian and development NGOs, and other foreign workers.

We work to uphold the strictest humanitarian standards of neutrality, impartiality and independence, assisting people of all faiths and none, without discrimination by race, religion or gender.

We work on peace, relief activities, Aid Supports, conflict and justice issues, and provide training in peace building and good governance.
Oversee the global standards, coordinates projects
ISAR oversees global standards, coordinates and monitors project implementation, identifies new areas for fund development, oversees the response to emergencies and disasters by members of the ISAR and supports them as needed with marketing and media materials.
Coordinating with multilateral institutions
ISAR is also responsible for coordinating engagement relations with multi-lateral institutions, representing the federation in international forums and developing and coordinating the global strategy.

We have tried grown to become the largest national humanitarian and development organization in Afghanistan with almost five years of experience providing relief and socio-economic support services to those most affected by the joint forces of conflict, war and recurrent climatic shocks.
